We met with leaders from the State of Indiana to determine project needs for phase one of the mobile application. We discovered there is a lack of education and awareness around finding food assistance programs for Marion County residents.
Objective: Design a Conversational Chatbot and Initial Concept Design.
Problem Space
Jun 2016 — Jul 2017
I conducted onsite interviews with Connect 211 operators to better understand citizen needs around food assistance. This provided an understanding of two key personas.
Personas
Jun 2016 — Jul 2017
Based on research and personas - three key scenarios were identified for the application. This was used to validate app requirements with stakeholders and create the design foundation for the product.
Scenario One
As a Marion county resident, I want to find the closest food assistance sites.
Scenario Two
As a Marion county resident, I want to find and determine eligibility for food assistance programs.
Scenario Three
As a Marion county resident, I want to find current events near me.
Scenarios for MVP
Jun 2016 — Jul 2017
- As a Marion county resident, I want to find the closest food assistance sites.
- As a Marion county resident, I want to find and determine eligibility for food assistance programs.
- As a Marion county resident, I want to find current events near me.
Ideation and brainstorming sessions were conducted with local representatives.
Prompt: If you were seeking help, what kind of personality, attitudes, or values would you want the person helping you to have?
